Here’s some food for thought,
a theological problem that stumped me for awhile. haha.
Where did evil come from, and where did it originate? Many of us, Christians at least, might instinctively answer “from satan”, quite confidently in fact. It is Satan which causes man to turn away from God, to sin, etc etc
but then comes a problem. If Satan was the cause of sin, the cause of all evil in the world, what then, was the reason of Satan’s own fall? Lucifer fell from heaven due to pride, from wanting to be as powerful as the Lord God Almighty. But where did that corrupting agent, that negative and ‘evil’ idea come from?
God is a Holy Being, pure and uncorrupted. That one comes without question. And He made man, and angels, in His own image. Therefore it can be inferred that Lucifer, like the other angels, was pure, holy even, at the start of eternity. what happened? might it be possible, that the root of evil was not satan, but something else?
it’s a dangerous question, and if youre not careful, you might find yourself trying to justify satan’s fall. One of the devil’s aims, after all, is to convince people that “It wasnt his fault”.
